CN 5000-Anyone know it's status?

Does anyone know what the status is of CN engine 5000. It was CN's first SD40. I saw that CN have the locomotive listed for public sale as surplus equipment back surrounded by the spring but don't know what happened since. At that time I believe it be listed as sitting within Edmonton. It would be nice to see it preserved somewhere.

Answers:    CN has a mediocre story when it comes to preserving historical equipment. CN #5000 was supposed to be preserved, but it be scrapped this summer. http://www.pbase.com/tsokolan/image/8405...

However, CP's first SD40 (#5500) be sent to the Revelstoke Railway Museum a few months ago, and plans are in place for it to be repainted within its original tuscan and gray paint.
Jason,

Bad communication for #5000, according to Canadian Railway Observations she was intended to turn to a Canadian museum but was despondently cut up for scrap... (The information is towards the top of Pg. 2)
