I'm a little concerned near getting my luggage checked over, and I'm honestly afraid they'll get lost. I really don't want to give somebody a lift any precautions.
I just own a small roll on and a medium size pack for luggage, and I'd like to maintain them with me as carry-on for the small trip for sanctuary. Is that okay with Amtrak? I've hear so many horror stories going on for Amtrak and baggage loss and mortal late and everything, I'm only just nervous.

Answers: I've taken Amtrak greatly and I've never had a problem next to luggage (unlike airlines). Now, if you are making a tight connection or your train is unpunctually, I suppose there could be an issue within, but even then I haven't hear of any problems. My parents took the train out to see me 3 yrs ago from OR to GA and their train into Chicago was unpaid and the other train was held for them to verbs onto to DC. They made the train and so did their luggage (and they had around 4-5 pieces checked).
Also, Amtrak seems to be really right about watching out for your luggage. I can't a moment ago go get hold of mine in OR until it's be checked against my claim #.
I'm taking the train this winter from GA to OR (round trip) and I'm stopping in NYC for basically over a day. I'm checking 2 pieces of luggage that will verbs on w/o me (something you can't do on the planes) and it will just be held a sunshine at my destination while I get sour in NYC next to my carry-on for a day. Amtrak have already told me not to worry give or take a few any of that. Because of their check system for luggage, my parents aren't even allowed to go obtain my luggage for me when it arrives a day formerly me. That's fine with me though.

I suggest instead of checking your luggage, just transport it on board beside you. Every Superliner has a suitcases storage area on the lower plane and then you can cart your small bag next to you and put it in the overhead. Be sure you ticket all your luggage beside all the info and you will be fine. AMTRAK is pretty righteous about luggage.
