I enjoy a 1987 Yamaha Warrior 350. It is extremely complex to turn over near the verbs cord and electric starter.?

I pulled the plug and that didn't help. It is not compression related. Sometimes it gets trouble-free and cranks, but mostly it feels like something surrounded by the motor is holding the starter form turning faster. The motor isn't locked up. Plenty of oil also. It runs great after it starts, I just can't grasp the engine to turn over with out pulling it off or rolling it stale. HELP!

Answers:    Have you try to remove oil filter on right side of engine and check the screen filter to see if nearby any metals. If metal there. There is major problem close to scoring cylinder and piston too. other possible is connection rod sizure?. ( lower end) or the side of connection rod ( washers ) might be rubbed on crankshaft. Check it out.
Possible other problem is too gummy grade motoroil, using sae 50, 60 like harley davidson engine grease during cold weather.. or use wrong oil like gear grease?? Some one might not understanding about motor grease and gear oil meanings.
If you can turn the flywheel by appendage, could be a worn out starter motor, or week battery. i had a similar issue next to a 300ex i bought make sure the clutch adjustments are correct, inside the armour. if not it will rub the inside of the case. but honestly if you dont hold a noise i wouldn't call it an internal motor issue. the elder warriors had a compression release right nearly the exhaust. i honestly wouldnt rule out compression, not that it is bad but they were around 10:1 or 10.25:1. the freestyle would have nothing to do next to the issue, rule that crap out, your manually turning it over.
