I have and 81' Yamaha Maxim 650. i bought it for fifty dollars. theres rust and hose down in the cylinders, how thorny would it be to clean up, if it would run right after i did? how much would it cost? would it be worth the time? appreciation in credit.
Answers: Oh, if the rust damage is single in the cylinders that have open valve or missing plugs...then you conceivably be lucky. If the rust you see is due to water intrusion afterwards this may cost a bit. If the rust is in the cylinders, topical pistons rings and a slight bore job won't cost mush more than 500-600 dollars if you're doing the work yourself. If the rust is contained by the crankcase then forget in the region of this engine.
