[London] my dad's car just got smashed cause he didn't pay the road bill, or something of that sort...

Question:
we live seperatly, and my dad lives in London [Business..] and he came here to visit us and stayed 3 moths, he went back to find out hat they had litrally smashed his car to bits, and there was a unread letter reminding him that on the 15th may was the last day to pay, but he didn't know anything about this, he arrived back to London on the 19th may.

-Has this happened to anybody?

Answer:
There has been loads and loads of publicity regarding this. If you leave a vehicle on the public highway without displaying a current road fund license disc the authorities have the right to remove the vehicle and dispose of it. This they do by crushing the vehicle the same as they do with old scrap cars.
I feel sorry for your dad but living in London he really should have known about this and arranged to park the car on private land or in a garage
Should have renewed his road tax. Or parked off road and got a SORN (statutory off road notice)
Those two events may or may not be separated. If his car has been damaged, he needs to contact his insurance company and let them investigate and handle it for him.
He won't do it again.
In the three months he was with you he obviously did not teach you to spell.
Did his car tax run out? That maybe the reason - his own fault.
