Auto Collision-Is it mandatory to report to my auto insurance?

On Wednesday, I got rear-ended by a drunk driver who agreed full liability before individual carted away to the pokey. We duly exchanged insurance info and I'm retaining an attorney subsequent week. The CHP made a report also. Do I still need to contact my insurance or can my attorney clutch care of that? Strictly speaking, my insurance card states "to put together a claim" which I am not doing since clear liability vests with the other driver.

Answers:    near is not need to report this to your insurance company unless you want to report a claim. if the other person involved have taken full responsibility and has valid insurance coverage next just agree to their insurance cover your loss. any claim put on your policy stays for about 5yrs and can affect your rates.plus, if you hold a lawyer your insurance company won't natter to you; they want to talk to your advocate.

in some cases the other carnival won't have okay coverage to cover you loss; but your lawyer will look into that for you. flawless luck
I would still call them and relate them about the incident. They will know how to direct you as to what you should do next...especially if nearby was pull to your vehicle as a result. It can't hurt to let them know what's going on. They'll desire what they need to know and what they don't.
