Answers: I be a manager for ERAC a few years stern. It's a cult.,,,they literally brainwash you. DON'T DO IT!! Seriously. Your shift is 7:30am - 6pm at minimum, depending on your branch those hours can and will seriously vary from working Saturday/Sunday until 9-11pm. You are seriously overworked and seriously underpaid. You will verbs up at work and see a line of associates waiting to get surrounded by; there will be a chain of people out the door at closing time & you will never disappear work 'on time'. You will NEVER have cars (even though you are to flop to customers and tell them you do own cars), customers will ALWAYS lie, squeak at you, and threaten you if you don't rent them a car because their license be revoked; you will have to be in motion repo cars from the shadiest parts of town at the worst hours of the night. They DEMAND you deal in 'DUB' and push you to learn as much as you can as express as you can (which is fine if you want to work there and advance--yeah whatever) You WILL hold to wash cars surrounded by your suit/tie/dress shoes and there is no clothing allowance. They will relate you from the start you can make a ton of money here (which is actually true, you hold to decide if you're prepared to sacrifice your soul in demand to do so) if you work hard an provide sell vend. If you don't mind people riding your butt each day about your numbers, don't mind doing pick up' & clutch backs, don't mind arguing next to bodyshops, repairs shops, or insurance adjusters about the b.s. that ERAC pulls--go for it. If you know how to schmooze & kiss a** and fib with a smile you'll do simply fine. Oh, and you must love golf & drinking.
After 6 months you are eligible to 'grill' which is a b.s. process in command to become a M.A. (managers assistant) at which time you are competing with other MA's for the subsequent Assistant Manager spot. Back stabbing, sexual harassment, and DUI's are slice of the job. If you can't variety it in rental they'll any fire you or you can work in Remarketing, Loss Control, or Car Sales.
The virtuous thing in the region of ERAC is it will open doors to other industries and better paying opportunity....the theory is if you can work at ERAC you can work anywhere. And it's true to be honest...it open many doors for me.
At the time I started the stipend was $1500 month, when I be promoted to MA it was $1600/month, and when I become a manager it be $2300 plus commission on you branch profits. I'm sure the salary is a bit more - this be in CA roughly speaking 6 years ago.
They will ask you questions roughly anything--there's nothing specific. If you really want this undertaking, be bold, be arrogant, be aggressive during the interview. Sell them on how you want to make profusely of money for them and you, how you want to advance as suddenly as possible, and how you're willing to do doesn`t matter what it takes to get done it. You'll get surrounded by.
