We lived surrounded by an apt. so we didn't have a garage but we be very thoroughly about removing snow and keeping the saline washed sour. We never did have any rust spots and we kept the coup¨¦ 5 years. To us maintenance extended beyond grease changes to things resembling hosing the salt bad behind the tires, underneath the wheel well,etc.
