Question in the order of trailers for Moving?

I am moving across the country, and i am renting a 4x4x8 enclosed trailer from U-Haul. Does anybody know the law on putting things on top of the trailer? this is the biggest one i can afford, and i be wondering if i could strap a mattress or something onto the top of the trailer.

If so, how high can i rightfully stack things? i would want 2 mattresses at the most on top, so about 22 inches.

Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated.

Answers:    strap what ever you want as long you don't exceed 13 foot over adjectives height and what ever u put up in that better be tied Good so it don't blow off an it will be subject to weather an thief's If it blows rotten you can be fined for unsecured load. Not to mention what if it hits the motor behind you
when u moving an from where on earth I need a trial mattress
A mattress is probably the last entity you want on the roof of anything. Something like that could "airplane" and fly of the trailer. I'm not sure of legalized issues, but that's what I would worry something like.
Tyler, you'd be okay with the 2 matresses. But be a honest boy scout and make sure to use plenty of devout rope, and wrap it front to back as ably as side to side.
