How do you own a mechanic check a used saloon past you even purchase it?

We're doing tons of research before we buy this used coup¨¦, and what keeps popping up is hold a mechanic inspect the car formerly you buy it, and run a background vehicle check. We just run the background on the sports car, and it has faultless history.

But how do you get the vehicle off the lot and enjoy an independent mechanic check the car beforehand you even buy it? How do you ask a car salesman if you can do that?
