I bought a 2000 Acura TL back within April 07, with prior awareness of the nouns issue. For that very origin, I had the saloon thoroughly inspected, they checked the tranny & found it was nearly latest. Got the ID off the piece, called Acura corporate, and confirmed that it have been replaced by the supplier under the warranty.
Acura is highly good around fixing recall issues even after the warranty expires. I have one issue the first month after I bought it - the 'SRS' light would not turn stale. Turns out it was newly the sensor - dealer replaced it FREE OF CHARGE. On a 7-year-old used saloon. Out of warranty. I say move about for it. Just get a perfect thorough inspection before seal the deal. Good luck!
