Does anyone know the boat salvage law contained by Florida?

There is a small sailboat that has been sitting within our bay. It gets tilted on its side during low tide and not a soul has touched it for years. I think it would be a fun little project to refurb it. How would I progress about claiming it?

Answers:    I think this connection has some valuable information that you may necessitate to know if you are thinking about salvaging it.

I would suggest you contact the Coast Guard and they should know how to refer you the correct source of information.
It belongs to some 1> as soon as you try and get it they will be all over you> Go carry the ID number & FL # see if the local wild life or sheriff will minister to you locate the owner>Taking it is stealing>Salvage is for recovery not ownership>Since it not adrift>It propabley has an anchor on it or it would of floated away>
