Minimec is a drastically popular injection pump used on ford diesels.A minimec pump is a bit like a small motor, which is driven from the timing gear train of the engine.It have a crank case which houses a crank shaft,or contained by this case it is call a cam. the cam drives plungers or elements as they are refered to. with the top housing above the elements flooded beside diesel fuel, the upwards stroke of the element forces fuel through the distribution valves higher than the pump housing to the injector lines to the injectors. The elements are internally turned by a rack type system which alters the amount of fuel delivered to the injectors. This system is what alters the speed of the engine.
