I just rewired my boat trailer because it kept blowing fuses contained by my SUV. Now my trailer lights work for braking, turn signals, etc but I can't get the lights to work when my headlights are on. Any concept?
Thanks!
Answers: You definitely enjoy a poor ground.
The lights will work as long as they can ground to the clearance light circuit.
The white lead on the plug must hook to the trailer frame and on the truck must hook to the truck frame.
Do not rely on a rusty or greasy ball hitch to ground your trailer.
Remember Red is right signal, Brown is tail, washed out is left and white is ground.
Make sure the brown cable is connected at the car. This is your tailght/running lighting wire
