Will the transmition from a 302 ford motor bolt up to a 351 m ford motor?1978 Ford Pickup F150?

Answers:    If it is an automatic no, if it is a stick and you are using the original bellhousing next yes, the splines are the same. With automatics the object why is the 351M has a bigger bell housing than a 302. If you stipulation a trans the following will fit your motor. A C-6 from a 351m, 400, 460 from a 70s model truck or Lincoln will work. There was a nouns called an FMX that comes within Ltd's and other ford cars. To use this trans you will have to modify the drive shaft, the shift linkage, and move the nouns cross member forward. Best bet is to stay next to a C-6. A trans with a solid aluminum luggage is a C-6, an iron case trans next to a removable bell housing is an FMX.
If it's a stick it probably will. However on automatic trannys, most 302's were equipped next to C4's and the 351's had the stronger C6. While the C4 could be adapted to the 351 it really isn't up to handling the torque of that engine.
