I have duplicate problem on my 94 325i. I have not done it all the same, but my plan is to epoxy a thin metal strip on the underside of the panel to replace the fiber. The metal reinforcing strip from a windshield wiper rubber insert should work. It wants to be thin but strong.
I tried fixing this by in recent times epoxying the broken fiber with no metal, it broke shortly thereafter....
yes some of the fit and finnish on the rash e 36 models was vastly poor, and on my 94 318i it's not only the top of the panel thats loose it's adjectives those little white clips too.on my car i consider the main problem is that when the fanlight goes up it pushes out the top of my panel,i expect i'm going to start with trying to adjust my my windowpane so it doen't try to roll up so much.when i take the door panel past its sell-by date and watch while closing my fanlight i noticed the adjectives mechanisim torque and push in toward the panel.I go and bought a new panel at first but it did impossible to tell apart thing.
