My cross-question is.... is there anyway the company can serve us fixed this problem? for free or w/ discount?

Answers:    I work for Chevy and would correct this type of problem but have not encounter one (I'm in San Diego). I've checked for any bulletins and could not find anything pertaining to a escape in the trunk nouns. Your guidelines for the Chevy warranty are 3 years from the time the vehicle was first sold or 36,000 miles, whichever occur FIRST. Did you but it used? Is it over 36,000 miles? If it is still under warranty I would lug it to another dealer. Bad expierence at the first one. If it is still below warranty be sure to keep adjectives your paperwork and if it doesn't get fixed after utter 4 or 5 visits after you have a legal complaint with Chevrolet next to whom you can contact directly and file a complaint. There should be an 800 number timetabled somewhere in your owner's instruction book. Hope this helps.
If it's still below warranty, a Chevy dealer should fix it no charge. There may also be a TSB on that greatly issue. TSB-technical service bulletin. Contact a Chevy dealer and run it former them. It won't cost you to make a phone call for to them and ask.
