Answers: generally speaking, no. but, i hold seen a few of these crank sensors in actual fact short and take the engine controller down. tyr unplugging the sensor and see if the fuel pump runs when you turn the knob on. weird things come up all the time. finishing week i had an 05 knock against with no map sensor, cam sensor, intake nouns temp, or trans line pressure reading, and found the egr postiion sensor was drawing down the 5v refreence voltage to .6v. polite luck

Answer is no, if the crankshaft sensor goes it won't start. The fuel pump is on a totally different system. All the crankshaft sensor does is detail the computer when to fire the coils and , has zilch to do with the fuel pump...Steve
