Answers: What size engine are you discussion about? I enjoy a 2003 V6 2.7L engine and have have it up to 127 MPH and still going. If you learn to use the shifter correctly, it would be tricky for a lot of larger engines to out run the Tiburon. I drive it knotty and fast and at 47,000 miles it still does not use grease. The gages are very accurate.. if my gas gage read out 1/2 full I will put in 7 gals. gas into a 14 gal. reservoir. It is the best built car I hold (out of four) and most likely I will buy another Hyundai Tiburon. You can draw from 24 MPG at 80 MPH, 29/30 MPG at 50/55 MPH.
Don't let ancestors hate on it, because it's a Hyundai, if you look contained by magazines, Hyundai is on the rise, at hand SUVs are beating out BMWs and here sedans are beating out Lexus', so they're ability and construction are top notch.
As far as the Tiburon is concerned, it is a GREAT sports car for the price, not alot of performance (even from the V6) but here are a good bit of aftermarket parts for it to support with that. They could probably muster around 155 or so. Not sure if they are electronically limited or not tho, so perchance lowwer than that. They are great cars if you're into the 'Tuner' scene, and wanna start out with a angelic car that won't cost you an arm an d a leg!
They look virtuous, and are good performer with the V6/6 speed stick, but for like money you can get a Scion tC. Maybe not as well brought-up looking, but it will be more reliable, hold it's value better, and ultimate longer. And better on gas too.
