Mazda MX-5 Advice?

I am thinking about buying a third equals miata. What do you think? Do you own any recommendations, approaching is it worth getting the hard top, is in that much of a difference between the 6-speed and 5-speed transmissions?? Also do you know if there are any differences between the 2008 and 2007 models?

Answers:    Take a look at the NC (third gen miata) forums on miata.web, as you will find plenty of info (also check the pricing and dealer forum earlier going shopping).

In short, here are some basics: If you own to park in soso neighborhoods or drive surrounded by the big cold, the hardtop makes sense, otherwise forget it, the soft top is much cheaper and enormously well designed.

6 speed vs 5 : shorter ratio on the 6 speed makes for more clutch commotion and slightly more committed driving. The 5th gear has a taller 2nd and 3rd which can breed it a little more relaxed surrounded by dense traffic. Both are fine, do not make this your choice factor, look at the other stuff and grab hold of whatever nouns comes with it.

Even stripped bones and with no added doodles, the stock miata is flawless as is, as long as what you want is a lightweight, fun sports car. Of adjectives the possible packages, the only ones I would consider are: the suspension bunch, adds $500 to sticker price but brings better dampers and a predetermined slip differential, which is a steal for the money. and the DSC (dynamic stability control) is always obedient to have, but I do overlook where that one hide and if it available in adjectives trims, might be GT only. I would stay away from leather places, not very comfy underneath the sun with the top down and if you drive this vehicle like it's designed to fabric sitting room will hold you in place better :).

The NC miata is a blast to own and drive. I can't deem of a more fun car for smaller number than $100k.
I would pass on the complicated top unless you really like it. It will cost you reasonably a bit more than a soft top, and Mazda never has any specials on the complicated top. Not much difference between the 5 and 6 speed in my belief. The difference from 07 to 08 is a in dart 6 cd changer, and the manual leveling drivers form.
