I can only bestow a guess. Back in those days, emission devices were still pretty poorly designed, and the foreign engine (I believe it is a Renault) be a poor choice.
I would say you'd be lucky if it get 13MPG.
I have owned 3 and get around 17mpg in town and upwards of 26-28mpg highway. The V6 Setup is totally economical- only 130hp, though.
If you translation out the flux capacitor it will get 15 mpg or so .
i own one, and while the engine isnt one of the fastest, (my 1988 toyota truck have more power), it gets pretty suitable gas mileage. i get usually 15 around town (vegas), and 28 on the freeway. in a minute what i want to know is where to find headers for the engine....
