Answers:    at hand are over 150 reasons that the check engine muted will come on. whenever the on-board computer detects a malfunction within a monitored component or system that could cause the vehicle to exceed emission standards the computer stores a code as to what system or component is involved and turns the light on.

You can cart you car to any Autozone parts store or any AAMCO nouns shop in the US and they will verbs the code at no charge and tell you why the standard lamp is on.

Some reasons are straight forward and you can seize an estimate for repairs when they pul the code. Other codes are less specific and will require new diagnosis to determine if the code is 'real' or an 'intermittant' condition.

start with getting the code pulled. As mentioned above, Autozone and AAMCO won't charge you to do that. If you enjoy any questions after they verbs the code, then post a press with the code information and we'll be better competent to help you.

hope that help
Not if it worked this time also. I would got to autozone or equivalent and catch the code reset for free. Then if it does it again take it to the broker. You might try a little complex octane fuel.
