RX7 engines?

how hard is it to do a engine swap near a Mazda rx7 for i want a piston engine in mine. if so what engines work the best as a replacement engine? any backing could be great! by the way its a 88'

Answers:    swapping contained by any piston engine wont be easy. most those swap in chevy LS1 or LT1 engines, and at hand are kits available to do the swap from granny's speed shop. Even next to the kit, this is a difficult swap if you aren't experienced and relatively a big project. Also, most v8 swaps cost in the neighborhood of 4000-10,000 dollars if you do the work yourself, so replacing the stock engine or doing a TII swap will be cheaper.

EDIT: after reading the other answers, i touch i need to comment further. first of adjectives, NO RX-7 OF ANY YEAR EVER CAME FACTORY WITH ANY PISTON ENGINE! EVER! some of the older RX models such as the RX-2, RX-3 have piston engine counter parts, which were one and the same cars just different engines and also a different dub. no mazda car labeled as an RX-anything will come near an engine other than a rotary.

also, the V8 swap is not something i instinctively favor, but i can certainly see its benefits. the RX-7s are express stock, but they're getting old and plenty of foreign cars can beat them. dont listen to these lies of a nonexistent redline, or insurmountable power. plenty of cars today will lay the smack down on a stock or even mildly modified RX-7, even the supreme ultimate unassailable third gen twin turbo (omg no way!). corvettes, camaros, evos, sti's, even srt-4's. i guess if you spend adjectives day race n/a four cylinders you'll feel unattainable, but most rotaries are anything but. thats not to say rotaries arent swift, i have a second gen TII that runs 12's, but mines far from stock.
One of the most popular swaps is for a small-block Chevy V8. Some of them come out narrowly any heavier than the rotary.

Here's someone's account of their RX7 V8 swap. Most of the pictures are down, sadly.

Trust me kid keep hold of the rotory. or you can go on A want -n- distroy mission looking for I think About 2000 RX7s FROM
1980 tru to 1995 that come stock with 4cylnders. GOOD LUCK AND GOOD WELDING IS THE ONLY WAY YOU WILL DUE THIS.
Putting a Boinger into any RX make baby Jesus cry... ;)

But yes, nearby are many FC's and FD's running small block V8's. A 'network search should know how to find several examples. You could also look on the RX7Club.com forums.
Dont call it a RX-7 if you do it...christen it a V8-7...if it were mine i'll stay rotary but its your motor.
