Answers:    My former boss and my father both owned Durangos, and they both had transmissions die precipitate. They also both had constant electrical problems.

As far as your gas mileage, it will depend on what the engine and trans-axle are. EPA estimate ranges between 11 mpg and 18 mpg. However, the EPA have stated that their tests are currently poor and that you should knock give or take a few 20% off to gain a more accurate estimate. That would put your range as 8.8 mpg-14.4 mpg.
How much you paying for it is it 5.9 option?
my ex wife has one and it have been a incredibly good vehicle for her. immediately has 140,000 on it, uses no grease and has given no problems except door locks stripping their mechanism. impossible side is fuel mileage. hers is geared pretty low and only get 20 mpg highway and around 16 in town. i grain it to be a comfortable, versatile and risk-free vehicle. i run a garage and see very few of these come through for repairs. she loves it and i'm glad end in there is never anything to do to it but regular service stuff. my 2 cents worth, dutiful luck.
