My 2000 v8 tundra runs perfect. im looking for a better nouns in exhaust... today, i see that there be two pipes comming together to make a "Y" pipe and step into which either be a resonator or a muffler. it was pretty small. next... there be a clamp which i could remove and then i could transport out everything past that point. bygone the clamp there is a larger muffler or resonator. what one is the resonator and what one is the muffler?? when i took out adjectives of the things behind that clamp (between the 2 unknown parts) it sounded really loud but also cavernous. is this bad for the engine? what are the two parts??
Answers: catylitic converter and muffler you can suck a spigot without those two parts..
Back pressure is other an issue with exhaust. It might nouns better but you will be losing perfromance. Also if you remove the catalytic converter you are going to throw a check engine light. There should be a few 02 sensors infront of and at the back the convertors. Replace the factory muffler with a borla or flowmaster cat-back system
