Can a 1957 265, be bored out to a 283, soundly and short running hot?

Answers:    no it cant ,the block isn't thick plenty, you have going on for 30 thousands maybe on that one to bore it out to ,but it will run on the melt side ,those really wasn't thick adequate to bore out, usually two times of replacing rings in them and they be ready to be junk, they was tangible good engines though, but not worth putting that much money contained by to,i got two of them, adjectives stock, don't know what kind of shape their contained by though,i know this they was drag raced for several years, and did smoke, you,ll be better stale getting a 350 block to start with, upright luck.
Why not put a 283 in it----some sweet rebuild are available ready to run !! You are messing around with something that might not do what you want it to do. How going on for leaving it stock for resale advantage.
