My '93 Ford T-bird have shifting problems, the mechanic broke the throttle cable, can't find this subdivision anywhere

The throttle valve cable fragment I need have been discontinued! This is the single thing keeping my t-bird from running! I own searched soaring and low, (yes salvage yards hold been my low!), no luck. My t-bird is a 1993, V8, 5.0l, the mechanic said that the cable can't be from any other type of motor!
The frustrating thing is that this section costs under $30.00!!Help... does anyone know what I can do?
*please don't put in the picture me to "junk" it, I bought it a couple of months ago for my kid(newly licensed). The mechanic said that the car be in honest running condition.

Answers:    I'm curious, if I can put a generic TV cable on an AOD in my 67 Mustang, why would you have need of a specific one for your T-Bird? Seriously, didn't the early 90s T-Birds hold a front clip that looked A LOT like the Mustang? I would wonder if my secure were mortal jerked if I be you.

Also budge find a dealership willing to hunt for you that fragment... Most won't search for that element .. but some have merchant locators that can tell if any broker has it within the nation that is on this locator..

What constituent did he break? the nylon bushing? Those can be found anywheres at transmission shops.. possibly bringing the cable to the shop would give support to also...

Try transmission shops and hold those junkyards put on a locator for the part... apparently you get the run around from some people
Also you are looking for a T-Bird or Cougar (it's mercury's variation of the TBird) of that vintage...

Talking with others you should seize an idea of what years will fit as usually it will be a few years worth of t-birds that will work
I'm not as aware with the 5.0 T-birds as I am next to the 4.6 T-birds, however, if you'll go to www.tccoa.com and ask surrounded by the forums there they will hold an answer for you. There may even be someone there that have one or knows where on earth to get one.
