10.5 inch A/T tire within 10 inch Pro Comp rim?

I want to buy some pro comp rims for my 2002 jeep tj. the new rim size would be 16-10, and the tires i currently enjoy are 31-10.5 on 16 inch stock rims. will the pro comps fit. pro comp 8179's. and does backspacing really matter surrounded by my situation.

Answers:    8 inch rims will be ok up to a 12.5 inch wide tire. within your situation 4 to 41/2 inch back spacing will be needed to maintain from rubbing. you might have for a time rubbing with full lock out of the steering but it wont hurt anything . Do you own a lift on it . deeply of manufactures for lift have tire charts that recommend what backspacing ,diameter and width for specific stage lifts , i come across one on skyjacker.com .that wide of a rim is one and only neccesary for say a 14 inch and wider tire , if you stil doubt this check beside pro comp , thats why there tech squad is there for, flawless luck hope this offers some insight
