Buying cars on ebay?

is it safe?

Answers:    yes it's fine.
But as the other guy say make sure you know what you are doing.
Also see if you can bring back a test drive or in truth see the car. If they are authentic then this should not be an issue. Make sure you know how much the motor is worth and don't over bid.
yes, but it is a case of buyer beware.
Some things to consider.
Do you believe the seller is anyone honest eg. saying a 10 years sports car with 100,000 miles is within perfect condition. I really wouldn't presume so! I'd would have scuff and dings etc

How much history does the seller enjoy? Is all the paperwork surrounded by order?

How copious pictures has the wholesaler put on ebay? I'd want to see it from every angle in well brought-up light, inside and out.

How much money are you risking? I've bought a couple of cars past its sell-by date ebay, but I was solitary prepared to spend lb1000 - lb1500, which I could afford to loose if they were completely rubbish. They weren't and I'm jolly. It wouldn't have be the end of the world if they have died, but I would have be pissed off!

What checks can you do? In the UK uses HPI, and it will enlighten you milage, whether it has ever be stolen or written off. Well worth it.

Stick to your budget and put within bids based on worth. If you loose an auction, don't worry, near is always another one around the corner

If you can, turn and see the car beside a mechanic.

Good luck and have fun
I've bought a few, but if the operation seems too well-mannered to be true, it probably is. Try to make the purchase close adequate to where you live so that you can lift a physical look at the vehicle first.
