Professional oblige beside aftermarket exhaust for 97 Honda Civic?

I recently purchased an aftermarket cat-back exhaust system for my 97 Honda Civic HX, made for a 96-00 Honda Civic When I recieved it, I realize that the first primary pipe has a 3-bolt flange, where on earth as my stock exhaust is a 2-bolt flange. The aftermarket exhaust was shipped from a company contained by California, and I am in North Carolina. Could it possibly be made to comply near California emmissions or is it something completely different? Any suggestions!?

Answers:    Probably for hooking up to an after market header.
The Honda OE, the tail pip appendage has 2 bolt flange and the Cat mounting point have 3. Since you are removing everything from Cat back, the with the sole purpose thing that matter is the cat mounting point. Are they both 3 bolt flange? If they are, then you are honest to go.
If not, after you have a problem.
Most aftermarket exhausts come next to the 3-bolt, because most (mass produced) aftermarket headers come with a 3-bolt flange. Your best bet is to obtain a cat that is the right length to fit within between the header and exhaust, and make sure it have a 2-bolt on 1 side and a 3-bolt on the other. Otherwise, you'll have to cut bad a flange and have a trial one welded on. Any muffler shop should be capable of do that for you for fairly cheap.
