Question in the order of my 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan Sport?

Yesterday i was driving to my sons dads house nearly 2 hours away. I got in attendance... the van was doing fine...... after on my way home it started making a clincing din.... I was told that it be the rod. Does anyone know how much this will cost to fix it, or if it can even be fixed? My mechanic said that i will have to replace the unbroken engine.... but I want a few opinions. gratefulness

Answers:    If it is a rod, yes it can be repaired. The engine has to be removed, the crankshaft removed. and replaced next to a reground with tentative bearing. If the rod is unpromising, you may have to replace that/them also. The point here is, the labor factor may override buying a short block/ long block, or a used engine. There are several option to consider. Please get a second evaluation, and maybe even more. Try the independent shops and compare transcript. If it is a rod, please don't continue driving it, as you could interweave up in a worse mess. You could ruin the block, and next have core charge. I know you most feasible don't understand adjectives these terms, but I'm sure you know someone who does. That would be easier than me trying to explain them here. Good luck, and of late be careful of who you own do the work. Get recommendations from friends and family circle. It is tough sometimes for a lady, because some (very few) mechanics resembling to take power. You may need some lend a hand finding the right person to find the job done. Be sure the appointment is correct.
IF IT IS THE ROD YOU WILL BE REPLACING THE COMPLETE ENGINE ASSEMBLY AND A JOB LIKE THIS WOULD RUN BETWEEN $2000.00 TO $2500.00 PLUS AND ADDITIONAL PARTS THAT ARE NEEDED.
