..on ur car
Answer:
If you look at JCWhitney's website, there should be kits to do it, but check your local laws first. Many states have made it illegal because it's such a safety hazard.
Personally, I don't like smoked taillights because if your brake lights are on, and it looks like your normal taillights are on, this poses a safety hazard and puts you in a potential situation to be rear ended. And, unlike normal accidents where the person who rear ended you would be at fault, in that situation you would be at fault for altering safety equipment.
For a safe way to do it, take a look at the taillights from the 1984-1988 Ford EXP. They had 'smoked' taillights, and those suckers were bright as hell.
ive never heard of the term "smoking out your tail lights" before, i know you can buy after market tail lights that are "smoked" but if that dont work, i know this sounds kinda dumb but maybe using a window tint to "smoke" the tail light, that way they are dark and light still passes through, it might be cheaper but harder to do
they are called "blackouts taillights" they have them for head lights too. a good manufacture would be GT Styling if you ever heard of them not too bad on the price either.
There are smoked taillights but also I believe there is a spray you can use. Check out www.americanmuscle.com they have all kinds of stuff for your stang & they have free shipping. I use them all the time! Also u can try www.dallasmustang.com they usually have some pretty good stuff too. Hope I helped a little!
I wish I could remember the brand, but there was a spray that I used on my S-10 about 12 years ago. I sprayed it on the inside, two coats I think. It blacked them out well and the light showed through quite well also, never got a ticket for it! I got quite a few for windows tinted too dark, but never the tailights. You could still see a red tinge to them. May be the stuff at JC Whitney.
I'd start out drying them in the oven for a little while @ 150 deg. Then make sure you chop them up REAL fine other wise you'll have a mess :D
