What would lead to the upper air conditioner to cycle on and stale of it's own volition contained by a 2004 Chevy Tahoe?

I've taken the vehicle to the dealer numerous times for this problem and they can't diagnose it.

Its the space heater assembly behind the dashboard theres a vacuum dash hooked up to the vent and has come past its sell-by date.OR partially fall off,which is causeing a overflow then pressure after leaking again.Its a short time ago time consuming repair(labor)
