1996 Impala SS vs. 2005 mustang GT?

what car do you reckon would win? i own a 96 impala and when my dad owned the car he said he rhythm a new mustang gt once past, but i just needed to know everyones opinion.
P.S.
dont post anything denial about the impala, lately because you dont like it. i want to know from someone who in reality knows what the impala can do and if its a devout competition for the mustang

Answers:    The Impala SS has slightly more horsepower (305 vs 300) but is much heavier at 4221 lbs curb counterweight compared to 3480 lbs for the Mustang GT. Based on numbers alone, the Mustang GT will beat the Impala SS every time.

Now it also depends on who's driving. Someone driving Mustang GT could obtain smoked by a Nissan Micra if they don't know how to shift gears or if they lose control of the car.
