i was thinking just about using a 3" but idk because i think i might obtain port noise. do you focus i should use a 4" or a 3"?

Answers: I wouldn't go smaller amount than 3"
port size depends on what size sub you want and what port tuning you desire. i use a 3" x 6 1/2 port on my 10" in a 1 1/2cu.ft. box. weighty and clean bass response.
