Answers: An ohm is a measurement of electrical resistance, so roughly, the more ohms you have, the more electrical resistance you own, and the less power you acquire. The subs never lose any power, but your amps will definitely lose plentifully of their potential power if you go from 2 to 4 ohms. An amp that does 1000 watts at 2 ohms is designed to put out that much power at that amount of electrical resistance, so if you increase the electrical resistance, you will not be capable of put out as much power. So when you buy an amp, you have to check to see how much power it puts out at however plentiful ohms your running to make sure your not buying some article that says it does 1500 watts, but solitary at 1 ohm and at 4 ohms it may only do similar to 300 watts.

Your amp will put out smaller amount power going from 2 to 4 ohms per channel. More power will be put out at 1 ohm. But most amps can't run at 1 ohm, but mine does:)

There is a trade off though, the lower the impedance (ohms) the more power is pushed as okay as higher distortion and more grill is generated. The excessive roast will shorten the life of the amp.
For best overall recitation, it's far better to get a sophisticated powered amp and load it beside 4 ohms than a lower powered amp and force it to push more power with a lower impedance (2 or smaller number ohms) load.
