Can a speaker?

that is two ohms run at 4 ohms fine or can a 4 ohm speaker run at 2 ohms fine why is the speaker labled beside an ohm rating? if its 4 ohms should i power it at four ohms and same with 2 ohms

Answers:    ohms are the amount of resistance the voice coil have to electricity, a 4 ohm coil will only ever be 4 ohms unless it is "burnt" or "blown" due to too much power or distortion. Dual coil speakers hold two 4 ohm coils or two 2 ohm coils, allowing for different ohm setups. Simply put, the lower the ohm rating of a speaker, less power is needed to ably drive the speaker, and the more power you can pull from an amp
