What size mono amp?

I just bought a Rockford Fosgate P2 12" subwoofer surrounded by a box, what size mono amp would I need to buy? I be thinking about the Alpine M450?

Answers:    apt amp
If it is in a hermetic box, that Amp will work great. Sealed boxes require more wattage to power the sub.

If the box is vented surrounded by anyway, I would get a smaller amp or hold the gain low on the 450.

That sub is rated at 200 watts rms, which is the recommended operating inventory. I am sure it could handle 300 watts plus adjectives day within a sealed box.

The 450 amp is 400 watts RMS, which is rather much for that sub, but will permit adjectives expansion of your system like adding together a second sub.
@ a 4 ohm load - that would be a great amp for that sub. so if you own a 4 ohm total load (2 ohm DVC )it is a great contest. when comparing a amp to a sub just be sure that the amp RMS power at the subs impedance is = to or smaller amount than the rated RMS of the sub.
@ a 4 ohm nouns the amp puts out 220 watts to the sub that handles 200. that's close adequate, just be sure the gain are set properly by a skilled professional and you should have a great little system. within the future if you make the addition of a second sub that would drop the load to 2 ohms and your amp them would put out 400 watts. which would afterwards be a system with a gain of 6db when compared to a single sub at 220watts.
