Answers: I built a competition vehicle with an MR2 the first year they come out (1985). They were smaller than the newer ones but I built a single center-divided 2.3 cubic foot box behind the seating with standard 10" woofers.
This vehicle won so many sound-offs within California that we began anyone banned from entering. The vehicle was a feature vehicle in "Installation News" magazine.
It consisted of 12 speakers (2 subs, 4 mids, 2 mid-bass, 4 tweeters) and three amps, totalling individual 300 watts @ 4 Ohms. The car still generate 140 dB and frequencies down to 16 Hz. It included a 32-band equalizer and had two DIN unit and a Half-DIN unit within an (originally) single DIN sized dash.
