Answers: Around 4 compute or higher. You should capture the same size fuse as your amp within your power cable tho. It can burn out easy if you turn it up to much. But dont grasp one bigger size. If its only a 40 amp fuse that might simply even need a 8 appraise cuz my alpine amp has two 20 amp fuses and it take 8 gauge. And that amp is not 2000 watts. I bet its putting out 400 RMS at the fundamentally most.
No it wouldnt stop it from powering up. Unless the fuse is blown.
First off look at the RMS watts not mount or max watts.
Peak or MAX power is an arbitrary number with no material standard of measurement.
RMS (Root Mean Square) is also the thermal precincts given by the manufacturer as the continuous power a sub can fiddle with before dud. Ideally you don't want to exceed the RMS rating by more than 10%.
Get a 2 AWG wiring paraphernalia.
If your total system power is 1000 watts RMS or more, you will need to:
1. Upgrade the alternator to a glorious output alternator
2. Upgrade to a heavy duty insightful cycle battery
3. Upgrade the "Big 3" - i.e. to replace the power wire between the battery-operated and alternator, the ground from the battery to the chassis and the ground strap from the engine/tranny to the chassis next to at least 1/0 AWG chain.
Failure to do this will result in you replacing them anyway as the alternator will eventually fall short.
Here is a guide that will calculate what size alternator and power wires you stipulation http://www.datafilehost.com/download.php...
A second battery is never a right idea as it's an added strain on the alternator to charge two battery AND supply power for the car. The ONLY time a second mobile is useful is if the audio system is to be used beside the car past its sell-by date.
A cap is with the sole purpose good so far as the audio system isn't trying to verbs too much from the electrical system. A cap doesn't provide more power, it's designed to 'stiffen' the voltage to the amp, nought esle. If the current isn't there, a sou`wester won't help. The alternator must own at least 20% more amperage power than the entire vehicle and nouns system combined for a cap to be of benefit which is ironically matching requirements for an amp to be efficient.
