Car subwoofer making sounds?

hey everyone. i just bought a tentative 10" pioneer subwoofer with a ported ring. when i turn up the volume to about 3/4 the sub starts to net a sort of "wooshing" sound. it kinda intricate to explain, but you can only hear it when you are standing right in close proximity it. the sub it rated for 350 w rms @ 4 ohms but is running at 8 ohms (DVC is set up contained by series) correct me if im wrong with any of these values. my amp is a audiobahn a4002T rate at 200w rms X 2 @ 2ohms or 400w RMS bridged @ 4 ohms ( not sure if it is 2 ohm stable when bridged). bass still sound excellent but im worried that sumthing might be wrong somewhere because of this nouns that the sub is making. if someone can help mewith this it would be greatly appreciated. gratitude

Answers:    Sounds like port clap. This is due too small of a diameter for a port. Most ports (if round) or no less than 3".

Also, the sub must be capable of tolerate being within a ported enclosure, not adjectives do.

Is the gain set right?

The purpose of the gain is to match the signal volts RMS coming from the source (CD player, etc.) to the input of the amp.

Im not sure what the nouns is that you describe. But it could be the ohm that you are running it at . try running the sub at 4 ohm and see if that helps.rather describe the sound and when and how it does it better afterwards mabe i can help you more.
