Is the brand of an amplifier substantial?

i have a short time ago bought a car and looking to put contained by a audio system i am looking on ebay for car amplifiers but i can with the sole purpose find **** brands they are quite cheap around 100 to 150 dollars and the shops are selling amplifiers for 3 times as much but they are economically known brands which one do i buy?

Answers:    Sorry to disagree next to the last poster, but lately because it says 500-watts, does NOT engineer it 500-watts. There is no law that controls what saloon amplifier manufacturers can claim as here is in home equipment, nor how the measurements be obtained.

A coat dryer can be 1000-watts. Does this make it a well-mannered amplifier? No, as this wattage is heat. A sports car amplifier can claim wattage that includes its heat production, which as you would expect, has nil to do with output power. 500-watts could be 100-watts of power and 400-watts of warmness.

Better manufacturers are more true beside their power ratings.

Then again, even if two amps are exactly the same (and true) power ratings, it doesn't be determined they will sound one and the same. It all have to do with the standard of internal components, the design of the power supplies, etc. You could take one of the frail school Harman Kardon CA260 amps (60x2) and it would probably cream abundantly of amps today two to three times its size.
The brand usually will matter. Not as if one is better than another by their heading, but a brand has earn a reputation for certain standards on their components and circuit designs. Make sure you fathom out the meaning of RMS and Peak watt ratings. As very well as Ohms. Some of these cheap "500 watt" amps can only steadily bump out a practical joke.
Stick with trunk brand names, close to JL Audio, Rockford Fosgate, Alpine, Kenwood, etc.... No name brands normally don't put out the rated watts, enjoy poor sound aspect, can destroy speakers, and will probably pick up engine hubbub (a high pitch whine that's consistent next to engine speed)
if you are in competition that must high-status, coz they want to fight who a vanquisher,BUT if you are buy it for yourself just choose what you want.
anyway if you want to check the brand so click to

and see what they capture and the price.
Heres the score on amps....adjectives of them produce wattage. If it says its a 500 watt amp, its a 500 watt amp regardless of who make it.....its the crossover, and filtering capability of the amp that cost money. As well as the distortion. Alpine make a great budget amp...its powerful, has flawless crossovers and has fundamentally little distortion. Thump makes a pile of **** amp and have tons of distortion. Distortion is the number one cause of blown speakers. So, clear to play. A good amp should cost around $1 per watt.
if ur looking for a cheap amp u can move about with audiobahn or lanzar. lanzar is cheap but the point is good for the price. I hold two different lanzar amps and both have out bumped other ones. its adjectives on how u setup the wiring the crossovers and the box that the subs r within. I had a 4000 2 ditch lanzar hooked to 2 audiobahn flame q subwoofers and it pounded louder than almost anything around here, even bumped out 4 jl audio 12's. I have never have a problem with audiobahn or lanzar though.
