POrted or hermetically sealed????

Hey guys,
i have three alpine type r;s 12" and iw as wondering whether to put them contained by a box of threee thats bottom vented or a regular hermetically sealed box. I want it to be loud and i dont want it to be distorted. I was told by a box company that hermetically sealed is better.
what do you tihnk

Answers:    First, it depends on what kind of subs you enjoy. Some subs perform better contained by sealed enclosure then surrounded by ported. Secondly, it depends on how well the stall fits the specs of your subs.

A good ported paddock can sound better than a hermetically sealed enclosure surrounded by both SQ and SPL. It really depends on how well the paddock is made for the subs. The enclosure company that you talk to may have any thought that a sealed crate was better for your subs or not certain what they were discussion about.

Lastly, if you buy a ported crate that is a prefab and doesn't closely fit the specs of the sub(s) later it will not sound appropriate.
vented boxes are 100 times louder, i hold a sealed box and my freinds is vent, take my word for it.
