Answers: No they do not. The new ones enjoy a little problem near going into protection often, but that's purely to SAVE your amp. Plus if you keep it surrounded by a well ventilate area and don't run it to full power for a long time it will be fine.
No, the amps don't suck. In certainty, sony is one of the few manufacturers that hold gone CEA-2006 compliant. The problem is people merely don't understand impedance loading or don't know what they're doing.
