Answers: First stale the amp isn't 1600 watts. That's the peak power.
Peak or MAX power is an arbitrary number next to no real standard of height. Go by RMS power.
How do you have the amp loaded? Is it bridged?
Improper loading can effect problems.
Check the REM for 12 volts when the amp is supposed to be on.

dude it could be a list of things try checking the amp turn on front wire its usually blue from the stereo or conceivably the amp overheated and shut itself down this will happen short blowing a fuse finally check power wire near a voltage meter and make sure amp is grounded right did you try turning vehicle off later on this usually resets the amp and it should turn on if its still not working check speakers possibly there blown this to be sure is the case if amp lights up and nearby is no sound from speaker.
