Car audio put somebody through the mill?

I recently have my 12' Sony Explod and 10' Rocksford Sub and Sony Amp hooked up. The bass is pretty good. Only problem is when i turn it up really loud i hear a scratch noise.I own the stock headunit. I have a 03 Lincoln Ls. If i translation the headunit it should be even clearier right?

Answers:    If you didn't set the gain right, you may have already blown them.

The purpose of the gain is to clash the signal volts RMS coming from the source (CD player, etc.) to the input of the amp.

Here is a guide that will help you set the gain correctly http://www.datafilehost.com/download.php...

You'll have need of a multi-meter (AC voltmeter), Microsoft Excel and a way to burn an audio compact disc from an MP3.

If you don't have Excel, e-mail me and I'll distribute you a condensed version sparky3489@YAH00.com
