i bought a 2 ch 5000 watt class d car amp 3600 rms and 2 pioneer premier 6000 watt 12 inch subs surrounded by custem box's for bass only .i want to use the amp and subs beside a dj setup in a club weekly.i necessitate a 12 volt 250 amp power supply to power my amp and subs.well thay don't go a 250 amp power supply,(maybe for $1,200.)-//////-------i could buy 2 or 3 100 amp power supplys to power the amp but that would cost about $700 or more. i be thinking of buying a 250 amp high output saloon alternator $250 and useing it as a power supply but i will need some item to turn it and make power.i be going to use a fan motor 1200 to 2000 rpms but it spint it the wrong mode lol,i been trying to form it work. i need the altornater to work inside and it can't be to loud have to run off of 120 volts..so it can't be made out of a pasture mower ingine?do you have any idea's to formulate altornater work?besides puting it in a motor or truck.
Answers: You can spin an alternator backwards, but the problem with this is cooling because the supporter on the alt is now spinning the worng process.
Better yet, gain a motor that you can reverse. You can purchase small 120/240V motors that are reversible, just by how you telecommunication the windings. You may need to rig a pulley system to spin the alternator faster than 3000rpm to realize maximum output. Remember the difference in size on a crankshaft pulley versus the alt pulley? An alternator spins faster than what an engine if truth be told turns.
Good call on the batter and hat. It will help to smooth out the power from the alt.
buy a nouns compressor and take the compressor bad and you have a motor and a mounting place for your altenater
