At some airports you hold arrival and departure ATIS (different frequencies). but where on earth is the difference?

the weather will not be different, so why 2 different ATIS?

Answers:    going on for the same
When here is alot of information, there is no reaon wasting everyones time describing them stuff they dont need right very soon.
The departure will have details on the procedures to procure clearances and such, and the arrival will have information around runways and approaches available, just almost anything you would want to know.
You only own one frequency at smaller airports because there is so much smaller quantity information.
ATIS talks around more than weather; runways in use and other features are also discussed. An arrival ATIS would tender an approach control frequency; a departure ATIS would give a clearance conferral frequency, for example. But only incredibly large airports use two ATIS frequencies.
