But this doesn't mean traveling outside the United States. Obviously if your traveling outside the U.S. you would have to go on an airplane. But I would rather travel in a train cause to me its safer.

Answer:
if you have a long time of vacation and you like to see the scenary around, then of course train is more enjoyable. But if you are traveling for business or emergency traveling, then of course airplane is better because it is much faster. Maybe train is cheaper, but airplane can get you there right away although ticket is more expensive. I'm refering both transportation as coast-to-coast or destination that took around 3 hours on airplane to get to.
I'd like to ride on an airplane again, but I admit I'd be scared. Just being way up above the world is kind of exciting to me.
It depends on how far and how long the trip is and what is there to see during the train journey. Finally cost plays a factor, sometimes it is cheaper and faster to take a plane.
trains are way cooler
if it was with you honey i would do both if you wanted
ride on a plane or train
Depends on whether I want to get there in a hurry or not. You see lots of the country when traveling by train but they make a lot of stops, so it take more time. I really love flying but it is getting more expensive.
One must figure up your time as it takes you so much time to get to the airport, Then so much time ahead, flight time, Then time to get out of the other airport. Say all that takes one 6 hours. If you can do the same by taking Amtrak or driving a person should however if you can fly a longer distance then go by plane.
I've never been on a train. So I would rather travel in that. But planes are pretty safe (all in all) and they are way faster than a train ride!
Of the two, a train. We use them a lot in Germany. More room.
BUT, I'd much rather drive!
are you dumb? you ask a question like that in the aviation column, OF COURSE they are going to say airplane. common sense lady.
oh yeah, airplane(DUHHHH).
I'd rather be "Flying" the Plane...
Gotta Fly...

it's more likely that you'd die on a bicycle then a plane and a plane can go faster
Plane because sometimes there is nothing to eat on a train. But definitely not a bus.
Train train, you can walk around, you have more room, and you have more chances to survive if things go wrong. For long travels a cruse line also would do fine for the same reasons.
On a plane you are forced to get seated next to any moron, there is not much room to move around, and is like a 100% death sentence if anything goes wrong, plus security is joke even after 911.
Airplane....safe, fast, and way more fun.
I was in the USAF, and did plenty of flying, as well as commercial flying. I was an engineer for Union Pacific for five years.
I'd rather fly. I KNOW how much more dangerous a train can be.
Hi,
I have been flying for more than 25 years now and liked your question. Here's my answer.think about it. more persons die riding bycicles each year than flying airplanes. Where would you rather be? If you would like more information my address is dan23676@yahoo.com just for an example ( I can send you info if you would like...) bird strikes on aircraft windshields are more important than traveling on trains.
Get out of here!
Unless time was very short for whatever purpose I'm making the trip, or it's overseas and thus unreachable by rail, I'd much rather go by train. I haven't been on a commercial plane since 29 SEP 2001, when I came back to home base in Minneapolis after a temporary assignment as a station aircraft mechanic in Boston. Shortly thereafter, my nearly 20-year career as a mechanic ended when my airline went out of business.
Statistically rail travel isn't safer than travel by commercial air, but:
You see the country you're travelling through from a different (and in my opinion better) perspective.
You interact with your fellow travellers in a more prolonged and in-depth manner.
Depending on how you book your trip and where you're going, it can be less expensive than going by air.
You don't (yet) have to deal with Transportation Security goons.
if i was flying it i would fly if not id go by train
Both have advantages and disadvantages, depends upon the situation.
