Piloting skills?

Question:
Do spatial abilities and navigational abilities effect your skill as a pilot?

Answer:
Absolutly... however, spatial abilities are not as important as navigation... You have your instruments specifically for the fact that you loose all spatial ability when you fly in the clouds... If you can navigate, well, it would be tough to get where you want to go... or even get back to where you came from...

Its amazing how much easier navigaion has become in the last ten years however... its almost impossible to get lost with GPS navigation... and with synthetic vision on the rise, it wont be long before we could fly literally with no windows...
Spatial awareness is huge. How would you get from place to place without being aware of your surroundings and not having good navigational skills?
